b.jpg) Hi! My name is Ms. Tiboldo.
The 2011-12 school year will be
my eighth at Hackensack Middle School. I love teaching Life
Science at HMS, love my students, my classroom and the teachers with
whom I work closely.
A little about myself.....
I am a native to the area as I still live across the Hackensack
River in Teaneck, where I grew up and went to school. I
attended the Teaneck Public Schools and was active in many
activities and sports, including Chorus, Basketball and Softball
(yes, our arch-rivals were the Hackensack Comets!). During the
summer before my senior year in high school, I joined the
Teaneck
Volunteer Ambulance Corps and became an Emergency Medical
Technician. I have continued to volunteer with TVAC since
then, and have served in many offices over the years including
Captain, Lieutenant, and Trustee. I am a
veteran of over 2,600 emergency calls and have plenty of
stories to share with my students. I have also had several
former students follow in my footsteps and become EMTs on their own,
as well! Giving back to the community is something that I hold
very close to my heart.
After graduating from Teaneck
High School, I attended Montclair State University, from which I
graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. I
began my teaching career at Community High School in Teaneck, where
I taught Biology and GeoPhysical Science. I taught for four
years at CHS before coming to Hackensack Middle School.
In the spring of 2007, I decided
to return to school to pursue graduate studies and earned my Masters of Science Degree in Educational
Technology at Ramapo College.
I loved what I studied because I am able to use it in the
classroom to enhance how my students learn science. I even
learned how to design this website in one of my classes!
On a personal note, I am the
middle of three children and have an older brother and younger
sister. Both my siblings are married, with my brother and
sister-in-law providing me with my niece and nephew. My parents
recently left the house in Teaneck that I grew up in and moved to
South Jersey. They have
an exuberant chocolate shar-pei dog named Buddy, and I have two
cats of my own, named Murray and Leon. I am a Mets, Giants and
Duke fan, and am a giant Star Wars geek. My favorite book is
"A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" and I am obsessed with "Twilight"
(thanks to my students!). I love all kinds of music, though my
students firmly believe that I only listen to classical tunes from
Mozart and Beethoven! |
