On the last day of school before the holiday break, you will choose the name of a scientist from a list of many scientists who have made significant contributions to the field of Life Science.  These men and women may be inventors, discoverers or life savers.  All of these scientists, however, have overcome obstacles, thought outside the box and worked tirelessly to benefit our lives.

Your assignment is to create a "Wanted" poster advertising your scientist's stats.  You will research both personal and professional information, and find out exactly why your scientist is "wanted".  The overall goals for your poster are:

  • To be informative

  • To present information in a clear and creative manner

  • To convey an understanding of how people of various cultures have contributed to the advancement of science and technology

  • To convey an understanding of how major discoveries and events have advanced science and technology

Your "Wanted" poster will be due on the day that we return from the holiday break, and will be evaluated on the following components:

  • Overall presentation

  • Spelling, grammar and neatness

  • Accuracy of information

  • Creativity

  • Completion

  • Punctuality
